Rape: 4 dragged before Ado-Ekiti court

Ado-Ekiti – The police in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday
arraigned four men-Ogundola Dayo 24; Akomolafe
Gbenga, 27; Ayeni Oluwaseun, 29;  and Seye Banjo,
24-before an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court for
alleged rape.
The Police Prosecutor, Sgt. Caleb Leranmo, told the
court that the accused committed the offence on
Oct. 13 at Moshood road, Ikere-Ekiti.
He alleged that the first accused, Dayo, aided the
three accused persons to gang rape a girl  which
led to her being hospitalised.
The prosecutor  said the offence contravened
section 4(d) of the Ekiti State Gender Based
Violence (Prohibition) Laws of 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty while
their counsel, Mr Chris Omokhafe, prayed the court
to grant bail to them.
Chief Magistrate Adesoji Adegboye granted bail to
each of the accused persons in the sum of
N100,000 and one surety in like sum who must be
a civil servant.
He adjourned the case to Nov. 15 for further
hearing.(NAN)
